Thank you and Update

I can't thank all of my family and friends enough for their love and support. I have created this blog to give everyone continued updates on what is happening. Today we are heading into Boston in preparation for tomorrow's first chemotherapy treatment (7:45am). My first treatment and Red Sox Opening Day! The treatment approximately lasts 8-9 hours. We will follow up tomorrow's treatment with another 5 hour treatment on Wednesday and Thursday, followed by a shot on Friday. My hope is that you will continue to log on and read my blog and send messages when you have the chance. I love you all and I look forward to your posts.

  3. Hey Captain - remember, it's not about the bike - or as Lance said, "Anything is possible. You can be told you have a 90-percent chance or a 50-percent chance or a 1-percent chance, but you have to believe and you have to fight." There is no one else I'd bet more on in this fight than you. I'll be thinking about you from Fenway. Love you - Drew #2

  16. Uncle,

Ever since I was a little, I always knew there was something special about my Uncle Donnie. As a young woman, it became clear what a strong and compassionate man you are. It is that strength which will get you through this challenge and keep you fighting for all of those people who love you!!
    Love ya, Paulette

  26. In case you did not get to see the results of the Yankees game, I thought this would cheer you up (sorry Lisa):
"CC Sabathia and the New York Yankees know all about getting off to a slow start. That didn't make their poor showing on opening day easier to digest. Sabathia gave up six runs in his Yankees debut, and New York fell to the Baltimore Orioles 10-5 on Monday. Signed to a $161 million, seven-year contract during the offseason, Sabathia (0-1) allowed eight hits in 4 1-3 innings, walked five, threw two wild pitches and did not record a strikeout for the first time since July 25, 2005, at Oakland.

''I was terrible. I battled from the first inning on,'' said Sabathia. ''At some point I'm usually able to find it. Today was just one of those days where I didn't. When I have one of those days, this is the result you get.''

  29. Hay Captain, I know you aren’t the one who updated this site because you don’t have a prayer of spelling chemotherapy correctly... It probably came out on paper like “keemotherapee” and Barbie fixed it before it was posted. Hope you’re feeling ok today. Love ya J

Robert goes golfing every Saturday. One Saturday, he comes home three hours late. His wife asks him, "What took you so long?"

The guy says, "That was the worst game of golf I've ever had. We got up to the first tee, and Charlie hit a hole-in-one and immediately dropped dead of a heart attack."

The guy's wife says, "That's terrible!"

The guy says, "I know. Then, for the rest of the game, it was hit the ball, drag Charlie, hit the ball, drag Charlie, hit the ball, drag Charlie. . ."

    Miss your jokes pal J

  32. Wow,

Look at the collection of characters you have following this blog. I mean seriously. You have a man who refers to himself as Drew#2, Nell Dog, Josh to the P (what is that?) kbp- not to be confused with kgb and my personal favorite "the General." I heard he is bad ass and if you don't hurry up and beat this thing he will be climbing a ladder again. (sorry for the inside joke everyone) It is evident that you have an army of supporters who are willing to do whatever it takes in your battle against cancer. If this blog isn't enogh inspiration, use Al Pacino's speech in "Any Given Sunday." Here is the link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myyWXKeBsNk&feature=related
